Do you have an unsightly support post, or are you looking to give your living space a clean-line makeover? Look no further than our newest addition to the Trim Depot catalogue - MDF columns. Made of paint-grade MDF, and ready to be primed and painted to your desired colour. The column comes unassembled in 4 pieces, allowing you to install it without removing the original post. Simply cut to the desired height, glue edges, position around a post, and clamp. Measure the existing post and surrounding space
Record the post width and depth at several heights, then check for brackets, fasteners, base plates and changes in alignment. Confirm the available clearance to nearby walls, stairs, cabinetry and ceiling details. The finished wrap needs to accommodate the actual condition rather than only the nominal post size.
Plan joints and adjoining trim
Identify the desired top and bottom termination, any cap or base treatment and the relationship to nearby baseboard or crown moulding. Confirm that the selected MDF product, substrate preparation and finishing method are suitable for the intended interior or exterior exposure rather than inferring suitability from the profile name.
